Special events like the award winning premiere festival, Port Elgin Pumpkinfest held annually the first weekend in October, offers something for everyone. With over 45 events and activities it also features the largest two day car show in Ontario. This event attracts Guiness World Record Giant vegetables to our weigh-off competition. The festival holds something to attract and fascinate everyone.
Weekly throughout the summer beach carnivals or bandshell concerts at the beach or Fairy Lake can be enjoyed. MacGregor Point Provincial Park has their annual Huron Fringe Birding Festival.
Test your fishing skills at Chantry Chinook Classic Fishing Derby or take in any of the Fireworks displays held on Victoria Day, Canada Day and Labour Day evenings. Jazz it up at the Canadian Big Band Celebration.
You can take in an art class at the Southampton Art School or a horse drawn carriage ride through Historic Southampton. Teens can ride the BMX Track near the Community Complex and adults and children can discover how clean electricity is made at the Bruce Power Visitor’s Centre.
